Wei is a servant of the Jia family who is in Jia Xichun's service. He is escorting Xichun as she fulfills her goals and is assisting her with the eradication of La Manchaland. He is a supporting character introduced in Canto VII: The Dream Ending.
Appearance
Wei is a man with shoulder-length dark hair, parted down the center of his face, showing his face. He wears oval glasses, and a dark robe lined with golden trim, which is tied at the waist with a red sash and tied knot. On his shoulders, he wears a red cloak with a dark trim, with golden ornamentation lining this trim and his right shoulder. His robe ends at his ankles, with similar gold ornamenting being displayed on the right half. He wears dark loafers with golden soles over his feet, with white socks beneath.
Personality
Wei is a quiet and kind man, taking the time to respect Hong Lu despite the former's generally negative status within the family he works for, wishing the man well regardless. He is highly responsible, assigned to escorting Jia Xichun along the battle against La Manchaland, chosen for his formidable abilities in combat, as displayed by when he singlehandedly defeats waves of Bloodfiends. Despite this, he considers himself lesser in the scheme of things for unknown reasons.
Story
Wei is first introduced alongside Jia Xichun, who talks to the Sinners in the Backstreets of P Corp. He would approach Hong Lu and briefly catch up with the Sinner, honoring the man as if he were still in service to him. He would then quietly follow alongside Xichun as she leads her men to the briefing for their job.
He would later be re-encountered in Area 2 of La Manchaland, having participated in the eradication of The Priest's men, as well as the search for the area's button. Meeting the Sinners at the confessional, he would deflect one of Sansón's attacks aimed at Xichun, after she attempted to kill The Priest. As an onslaught of Bloodbags and Bloodfiends would approach following another play of Sansón's, Wei would defeat the horde on his own, looking to protect his men who were knocked unconscious by the magician, as well as keep the path clear for his young master. He would reluctantly recommend she accompany Hong Lu and the Sinners in Area 3 due to the greater odds of surviving if she did.
He would follow the group through Area 3.
