The Distortion Detective - Pursuing the Distortion. is a Mystery/Detective web novel published and released by Project Moon hosted on the company's official Postype. The series was written by the company's founder, Kim Ji-hoon, and had illustrations done by the Project Moon art team. It began serialization on February 28th, 2020 before ultimately being discontinued after forty-two chapters.

The story follows Moses, also known as the Distortion Detective, who has a unique ability to see when others are afflicted with the Distortion Phenomenon before they become true Distortions. With this power, she works to prevent Distortions from forming with the assistance of the other Fixers who work under her at Moses' Office.

Development

The Distortion Detective began as way for Kim Ji-hoon to explore the world of the City while having a way to practice his writing. After the web novel gained a following, he began to reconsider if the story should be instead told as a company project. Due to this feeling, as well as the ongoing the development of Limbus Company, Kim Ji-hoon decided to stop serializing The Distortion Detectiveand later turn the story into a full video game. This game would be a full scale company project, and would begin development after the completion of Limbus Company.

At some point, Chapter 19 received a manga adaptation, illustrated by the artist of Leviathan, Monggeu, to test the format, but Project Moon ultimately decided to go forward with the plan to make The Distortion Detective a video game. This chapter was later taken down from Postype.
