“
You may call me Cassetti, Sixth Kindred, a Kindred of the sixth generation, the rightful prince in refuge from his Family!
”
–Cassetti, Intervallo IV: Murder on the WARP Express
Cassetti appears to be a pale, thin man with ear-length brown hair, with visible scars or wrinkles on his face and neck. An elaborate golden costume masque, covering only the eyes, has been sewed onto his face. Bright-red eyes with slit pupils can be seen in the eye-holes of said masque. He wears a bloody set of dress suit, with ruffs visible in the sleeve openings, a white cravat-style tie, and a red scarf hanging from his neck. Multiple golden rings are visible on his fingers. He carries a black cane with an elaborate silver tip and handle.
When in his Bloodfiend form, dark red crystals of blood can be seen covering the left side of his face, left shoulder (dropping off to form a tattered cape of blood), and right hand. In this form, he wields a crooked, hole-ridden object shaped like a glaive, also made out of dark-red blood crystals.
Personality
Cassetti is a Bloodfiend with delusions of grandeur. He introduces himself to the Sinners as a prince, using antiquated language (reminiscent of Don Quixote's) and describing the WARP Train as his kingdom. As a Bloodfiend, Cassetti views humans as mere sources of nourishment, but despite this, he appears excited to meet the Sinners, enjoying the prospect of a fight as opposed to the idea of prey that merely fears him and begs for their lives.
Cassetti appears to place a great importance in the concept of family. While he mentions having left his own, and having plans to begin his own dynasty by turning the strongest passengers of the Train into his Kindred, starting from Sasha, he talks about his actions as a transgression, which he prays his own parent to forgive. Similarly, upon meeting the Second Kindred, he begs for her mercy, recognizing her greater power and his own crimes of "filial impiety".
Story
Prior to Limbus Company
Cassetti was one of the Bloodfiends of La Manchaland, where he was assigned the role of playing the Prince of the Parade in Area 3 (alongside Dulcinea, playing the Princess). Through unspecified means, Cassetti eventually managed to escape La Manchaland in the hopes of founding a "kingdom" of his own. He took up refuge in the freight car of a WARP Train, emerging and transforming the passengers into Bloodbags during transit to feed on their blood - resulting in numerous inexplicable disappearances of passengers. This activity eventually drew the attention of W Corp., and the LCB was hired to deal with the problem.
Forced to "awake from [his] slumber" early due to Mephistopheles taking up the entirety of the freight car, Cassetti emerged before passengers who lost their ability to resist, and converted MultiCrack Office Rep Sasha to become a Kindred. Sasha proceeded to convert the rest of the train into Bloodbags, directing them into the last passenger carriage for consumption. Eventually, the LCB encountered him, and he was promptly defeated - however, he was able to continuously regenerate due to the nature of WARP Trains, and the Sinners were unable to completely eliminate him.
The Sinners were forced to negotiate with him when Sasha grabbed the WARP Train master keycard, and Dante, Faust, he, and Sasha went into Mephistopheles in the freight car to negotiate. Don Quixote entered the bus demanding no compromise against him, distracting Dante and Faust, and Cassetti took this opportunity to attempt to convert Don Quixote into his second Kindred. This action awoke the dormant Bloodfiend personality in Don Quixote, and he was promptly executed for the transgression.
Observation Logs
Log Writer: Faust
Recording the information gained from an encounter with the entity.
The Bloodfiend who introduced himself as ‘the Sixth Kindred’, or ‘a Kindred of the Sixth Generation’ displays a high degree of psychological instability.
The subject’s speech patterns are fragmentary and highly illogical. The cause of this instability is unclear at present, though it is not without a few possible candidates: a symptom inflicted by the ‘Familia’ the subject has fled from, or the natural outcome of the claustrophobic environment of WARP trains.
However, taking into account the records of [Authorization from a higher security level is required to access the data.], it is likely to be the former.
The subject has a lexical idiosyncrasy of repeatedly vocalizing the following words in his sentences: ‘the Parade’, ‘Mask’, and ‘Prince’. While the possibility that the subject may have held the title of a ‘Prince’ is non-zero, various responses and the records of attempted conversation suggest that the subject was involved in a form of stageplay prior to boarding the WARP train.
Further attempts at communication resulted in a hostile encounter.
During the hostile encounter, the subject used crystallized blood to summon a powerful weapon in his hands. Similar observational records have been identified in ■■■■■, as characteristics of [Authorization from a higher security level is required to access the data.]’s child Kindreds.
In the same vein, the said weapon has been identified to have exceptional levels of hardness, strength, and sharpness. The damages inflicted by this weapon were observed to be significantly more severe than those caused by standard weapons.
This matches the data from [Authorization from a higher security level is required to access the data.], conducted and collected based on observation of ■■■■■.
The subject absorbed blood stored in his Bloodbags. It has been confirmed that, as is the case with other Bloodfiend entities, the subject’s strength grows exponentially with the amount of stored blood.
After what has been subjectively measured as several hours of continuous battle, the following fact could be determined: the subject is, with the combination of naturally rapid regenerative abilities of Bloodfiends and the time moratorium active within the WARP train, functionally immortal.
Because the subject could not be neutralized by any standard means, [Authorization from a higher security level is required to access the data.].
Fortunately, [Authorization from a higher security level is required to access the data.].
However, due to potential risks to [Authorization from a higher security level is required to access the data.], [Authorization from a higher security level is required to access the data.].
In conclusion, the subject was successfully neutralized.
Concluding the report.
→ Fau… ya kinda censored like… most of the report. (Rodion)
→ That is due to the insufficient security level. (Faust)
→ Hm. And how would one go about raising one’s security level? I believe that the Executive Manager, at the very least, is entitled to this knowledge. (Outis)
→ To raise one’s security level, [Authorization from a higher security level is required to access the data]. (Faust)
