Alex (Hangul: 알렉스, Al-reg-seu), also known in the game simply as Statuehead, is a survivor of Branch D-02, one of the many fallen branches of Lobotomy Corporation, becoming manic due to starvation and loneliness. She is a minor character in Canto I: The Outcast.
Appearance
Alex still wears her L Corp. employee uniform of a plain black suit, although it is now in tatters, as well as a stone mask belonging to one of the Doomsday Calendar's clay dolls. On her left arm is an armband, marked by the logo of the Control Team.
Personality
When Alex is met in the game, she is a shell of the person that she used to be. Yuri comments that her former coworker would never commit violence against others for the sake of her own survival despite there being evidence proving that the opposite was likely the truth. She shows a glimpse at who she once was when she asks Yuri to stop worrying about her and let her be, which is the only moment where she shows a true understanding and awareness of her surroundings.
Story
Prior to Limbus Company
Alex was one of the many employees of L Corp. who was unable to escape the building during the events of White Nights and Dark Days. One of the Abnormalities present at Branch D-02 was Doomsday Calendar, which requires sacrifices to be made to prevent an unknown but presumably dangerous outcome. Over the next few months the employees would draw lots to determine who to sacrifice to the Abnormality until conflict inevitably erupted when someone chosen as the sacrifice decided to fight to survive. The sole survivor of the fight that ensued was Alex, who then took one of the stone masks belonging to the Abnormality's clay dolls and wore it herself in the belief that it might save her from being sacrificed.
Canto I: The Outcast
Upon returning to the Lobotomy Corp. Branch, Yuri met her old friend again, whereupon Heathcliff deduced the happenings that led to her current state. Due to her state, Outis stated there was no reason to bring Alex along as her death is likely soon. Yuri stared at her old friend, who simply told her that she should simply leave her behind. The group does, and Alex is not seen again.
