–Pilot, Intervallo V: Nocturnal Sweeping

Pilot (Hangul: 파일럿, pa-il-leot) is a member of the LCCB and a supporting character introduced in Canto V: The Evil Defining.

Appearance

Pilot is a man with a youthful appearance, light brown skin and curly brown hair. He has deep brown eyes, with three circular marks in a horizontal pattern beneath the right one. He sports the LCCB uniform, consisting of a turtoise shirt and matching trousers, and a vest to which a communication device is attached. On his left earlobe, he has a small silver piercing.

Personality

Pilot is an enthusiastic employee who takes pride in his job and holds deep admiration for his teammates as well as the members of the LCB. As the rookie of the team, he lacks the experience and knowledge that would be expected of an LCCB member and is naïve to many of the situations that he encounters on the job, sometimes making mistakes that brings great risk to the LCB. Even still, he values his work and tries his best to improve himself to be of greater use to the company.

Story

Canto V: The Evil Defining

As a member of the Before Team, Pilot joined the mission to travel to U Corp.'s Lobotomy Corp. Branch and survey it in search of the Golden Bough. Shortly finding the Bough, the team was attacked by the Twinhook Pirates, accompanied by members of the Middle, among which was the Big Brother Ricardo. Pilot's team leader, Haru, managed to convince the assailants that the team was actually led by Pilot, leading them to capture him, while the rest of the team remained trapped within the Branch as it was consumed by the Pallid Whale.

Pilot was then imprisoned in a storage contained, and later freed by the LCB. Pilot delivered a message from Saude to the Sinners, revealing her to be still alive following the events of Canto III. At this point, he recounted of the team's encounter with the Twinhook Pirates and the Middle, and produced a hidden paper where he'd marked down the coordinates of the Lobotomy Corp. Branch. Pilot requested to join the Sinners on the mission, although Dante declined his offer as to not endanger him. During the interaction with the LCB, Pilot eventually started breaking down and mourning his tea, and was comforted by the Sinners before they departed to complete their mission.

Intervallo V: Nocturnal Sweeping

Some time prior to the Sinners' arrival at H Corp., Pilot would be tasked with finding a person connected to the Jia family in preparation for the LCB's future operations in the area. He was then approached by Qingtao, a former servant of the family. As the Sinners reached the District 8 Backstreets, Pilot, together with Saude, met up with them, and Pilot presented Qingtao to the Sinners as their guide through the Backstreets.

After the major events of the Intervallo, he appeared again with Saude to apologize for his mistake.

Canto VIII: The Surrendered Witnessing

At the start of the Canto, Pilot and Saude accompanied the Sinners and Jia Xichun's faction as they awaited the palanquins that would take them to Daguanyuan for H Corp.'s Family Hierarch evaluations. While Saude boarded the palanquin with the Sinners, Pilot stayed behind, informing Dante that he would have work to do outside of Daguanyuan.

Trivia

• Similar to how Effie and Saude's names are homophonic to "episode" when combined, Pilot's name may be a reference to pilot episodes.
