Iori
Iori (Hangul: 이오리, I-o-ri) is a Color Fixer known as The Purple Tear. An interdimensional traveler in search of her long lost son, she is a returning character from Library of Ruina and makes a brief appearance in Leviathan Book 1.
Appearance
Iori is a towering, mature woman with straight dark hair that goes down to her ankles and transitions into a purple color, pulled back with a silver hairband that shows a receding hairline. She wears a purple coat that signifies her Color Fixer title, lustrous and with a snakeskin pattern to it and cinched with a pair of beige belts. Underneath, she wears what appears to be a mesh top that shows her cleavage and black leggings, accessorized with a gold collar, a pair of earrings and a single ring on her left hand.
She additionally wields a set of three blades: A rapier with a white-dashed sheath and a snake-shaped guard, used for pierce attacks, a straight sword entirely colored purple, used for slash attacks, and a massive, rectangular greatsword on her back, with a black-colored blade and red ribbons on it used for blunt attacks.
Personality
Iori is a smug yet intelligent individual that has mentored numerous notable individuals within Library of Ruina. She seems more knowledgeable than she lets on, possibly due to her nature as a interdimensional traveler.
She cares dearly for her child she lost 40 years ago; her finding him well being the sole reasoning for her actions throughout the series.
Story
Leviathan
On Christmas Eve, Tomerry returned from the Library on top of the orphanage Vergilius took care of, and began destroying the building and attacking those inside. After Vergilius stopped Tomerry's attack, Iori, who had also returned from the Library, ambushed Vergilius and avoided answering any of his questions on how she had returned or what her goals were, only explaining that she needed Tomerry for her mysterious search for her son. Iori taunted Vergilius over the death of the children at Tomerry's hands, causing a fight to break out between the two, with Iori consistently having the upper hand. The fight came to a momentary standstill after Vergilius arrived to the ruins of the orphanage and saw the survivors, including Lapis, and Iori took advantage of the distraction and cut down a nearby building in such a way that it began to fall onto Vergilius and the surviving orphans. Vergilius managed to destroy the pieces of the building that posed a threat to him and the children, but when he resumed the fight with Iori, he had grown weak and unable to keep up in the fight, and soon fell to his knees as his vision grew blurry, which let Iori escape.
Limbus Company
The whereabouts and status of Iori are unknown as of the present day, but she is hinted at having a connection with the three who attacked Dante before their recruitment to Limbus Company. Lion, Wolf, and Panther all have purple, snake themed accessories, and Vergilius told them to relay a message to "the Serpent", which all align with Iori's various motifs as a Color Fixer.
Trivia
- A pin featuring the Purple Tear's logo can be seen on Don Quixote's uniform, among various other Fixer logos.
- In a now removed scene from Library of Ruina, Iori mentions the formation of a 13th Association, comprised of E.G.O users, E.G.Oists, aiming to combat the Distortion Phenomenon.
