Hermann's Group
“ | We—need those Boughs; and you—are capable of finding them. You—won’t die; but we—will kill you. | ” |
–Hermann, Canto I: The Outcast |
Hermann's group is an unofficially named faction based in N Corp., led by Director Hermann. Much like Limbus Company, they seek to obtain the Golden Boughs located all across the City.
Hermann's group was created as an attempt to reunite the former researchers of the League of Nine under a new lead, starting with the Littérateurs Gubo, Yi Sang, and Aseah; because of this, it is at times referred to as a new League of Nine. Its current members are Gubo, Hermann's co-director, the researcher Aseah, and Jia Huan.
Goals
The goals of Hermann's Group is largely unknown at this time, though the faction expresses clear interest in the search for the Golden Boughs. Hermann's Group is heavily involved in the study of Mirror Technology, with Hermann directing her researchers to find a way to destroy all the worlds and the possibilities reflected in the Mirror[1]. Whether this is the ultimate goal, or a milestone in the process of achieving said goal, is currently unclear.
Relations with other Factions
Yurodivy
A Syndicate that sought to overthrow the Head, its leader Sonya is connected to one of the Sinners, Rodion. Moreover, Hermann had apparently tasked him with retrieving the Golden Bough at J Corp, though how deep their connection goes is currently unknown, given Sonya seems to also have ties with Demian's Group.
The Ring
Some time before the beginning of Limbus Company, the Ring kidnapped researcher Aseah, a member of the League of Nine from N Corp. Despite the circumstances, Aseah and Maestro Jumsoon developed a professional relationship with one another due to Jumsoon's fascination with the Mirror Worlds he could see using N Corp.'s Glass Window, aiding in Aseah's research as the two becoming mutual partners.
Due to the Syndicate's collaboration with N Corp., rumors spread across certain Wings and Grade 1 Fixers that the Ring Finger was observing an unknown Singularity.
Wuthering Heights
Hermann carried a certain interest in the River flowing beneath Wuthering Heights in Nest T, which she believed might help her Mirror World experiments. Having gotten in contact with Nelly, Hermann offered its owner Catherine Earnshaw a contract: with Catherine's collaboration, Aseah and former Ring researchers began conducting Mirror World experiments in the manor's basement, gathering human subjects with the help of Linton and turning them into "dough" to create "primordial humans". Following the events of Canto VI, the laboratory under Wuthering Heights has now become defunct.
