The Edgar Family appears in Canto VI: The Heartbreaking. Its staff serves as minor antagonists during the chapter.

Overview

The Edgar Family is an affluent family hailing from T Corp.'s Nest. Outside of District 20, the Edgar Family is famous in Fixer circles, with their members at times appearing in Fixer magazines. This fame appears to trace back to the previous generation, and it does not extend to the family's current heir, Linton Edgar. Their manor is located at a short distance from Wuthering Heights, although it is not subject to the windy weather characteristic of the latter, and its gardens are guarded by large hounds. Following Catherine Earnshaw's marriage to Linton Edgar, the title of Chief Butler of the Edgar Family was claimed by Nelly.

The Butlers of the Edgar Family wear two types of uniforms: the men's uniform consists of a black suit over a white shirt, tied with a black cravat around the neck, and a silver pin on the left lapel, possibly the family crest; the women's uniform resembles a french maid uniform, consisting of a black floor length dress, a white apron, a white headband, and a grey ribbon around the neck. The Butlers carry a brown dimensional attache case with a silver crest, in which they store their combat cutlery.

Fighting Style

The male and female Edgar Family Butlers vary in fighting styles and capabilities, but all generally attempt to inflict an array of negative debuffs on the target. All Edgar Family Butlers commonly inflict Bind BindSpeed -X for this turn. or gain Haste HasteSpeed +X for this turn. and primarily use Slash, Pride, and Skills, while the male Butlers have some Lust Skills. Every Edgar Family Butler has an Evade that heals SP when Evading attacks, and Passives and Skill conditionals related to being faster than the target are common.

The female Butlers inflict either offense-related or defense-related debuffs, with the Swift Edgar Family Butler inflicting Defense Level Down Defense Level DownDefense Level -X for this turn. and Fragile FragileTake +(X*10)% damage this turn. (Max 100%), and the Fast Edgar Family Butler inflicting Offense Level Down Offense Level DownOffense Level -X for this turn. and Paralyze ParalyzeFix the Power of X Coin(s) to 0 for this turn.. Depending on the Skill, female Edgar Family Butlers gain benefits when faster than the target, including SP healing, inflicting Slash Resist Down Slash Resist DownIncrease Slash Resistance based on Stack.
(0.1 per Stack), and gaining additional Clash Power. They all have a Passive that increases Skill Power against targets with less than 50% HP.

The male Butlers, rather, prioritize inflicting Bleed BleedThe next Y time(s) this unit tosses an attack skill Coin, take X fixed damage. with their Skills, and can inflict small amounts of Paralyze ParalyzeFix the Power of X Coin(s) to 0 for this turn. as well. The Trained Edgar Family Butler and Shifty Edgar Family Butler's Skills are nearly identical, the only difference being the infliction of Bind BindSpeed -X for this turn. or Paralyze ParalyzeFix the Power of X Coin(s) to 0 for this turn. on one Skill. Some of their Skills deal additional damage if the target's HP is at 100%, or in the case of the male Veteran Edgar Family Butler, at or above 80%. The male Veteran can also gain Skill reuses when faster than the target by 3 or more, and has a Blunt and Skill that can inflict Burn BurnTurn End: Take X fixed damage. Lasts Y turn(s).. They all have a Passive that grants Clash Power when faster than the target.
