Faelantern (F-04-21-03) is a TETH-class Abnormality that is fought on Station 5 of Line 2: Möbius. It was at some point captured by Limbus Company and contained at their headquarters for research and E.G.O extraction.
It can also be encountered in the Mirror Dungeon through Abnormality events, and as a potential boss.
It is related to Meat Lantern from Lobotomy Corporation, and the source of the E.G.OLantern.
Faelantern is an ancient tree (estimated to be over 100 years old in its Observation Log) lacking any foliage. While it is buried, only its two barren branches can be seen protruding from the ground. A small teal fairy is attached to its lower branch, acting as a lure. It is unknown whether this fairy is a living being, or a facsimile puppeteered by the branches.
If its fairy lure is destroyed, it will partially emerge from the ground. It has a deep-reaching root system which it uses to attack any opponents or victims that are fooled by its lure. An innumerable amount of yellow eyes can be seen peeking out from gaps in the base of the tree and roots.
When the body is broken, a yellow sap can be seen leaking out from it. It is also able to regenerate the fairy after it is broken.

Performing the post-mortem report as ordered by the Executive Manager. The entity was encountered around 1440 hours today. To elaborate, that is the precise time when we identified it as an enemy and prepared for battle. Its appearance is akin to a hideous, ancient tree. I estimate its age to be easily over 100 years old. I raise its broad wrinkles and wide pillar as supporting evidence. What was odd, however, was that its height was far too stocky despite its aforementioned traits. Its twisting branches all point to a singular direction, and clues indicate that its roots are broad and deep-reaching… After a thorough observation of the blue fairy(I’m unsure if this is an appropriate designation for it, but I was unable to find another suitable name), which hangs from the tip of one of the branches and radiates a bright light, I concluded that this is a trap contingent on deception. Such deceptive traps were often used in numerous battles I have participated in. Install something to draw the attention of your enemies and ambush them from where they least expect… It’s a rather rudimentary trap. I have ordered the Sinners to halt their advance and await the Executive Manager’s orders. Please consult this guide in your future commands. Thank you. → Wow… I guess you’re not a veteran for nothing, huh? Didn’t know you were this good~ (Rodion) → I’ve both encountered and installed many similar traps. Even a civilian could identify such an obvious trap if they have even a modicum of perceptiveness. (Outis) → Right~? Even a MODICUM(This word appears to have been bolded for emphasis) of perceptiveness, that is~ (Rodion) → …Shut up. (Heathcliff)
We engaged with the entity in a meaningful capacity around 1900 hours today. Thus I report the following findings. Just as I expected, it immediately attacked us from the ground as soon as one of us advanced into its proximity. We suffered some losses, but considering that the said personnel decided to charge the enemy in spite of my warnings, I don’t suppose he would have been of much use in the battle anyway. However, the intel we’ve gathered through the involuntary decoy was rather valuable. Now we know why its height betrays its apparent age. The majority of its bulk, its main body, is buried underground. Countless roots, long enough to make measurement of their individual lengths difficult, burst out of the ground to impale us. Still, we were able to identify that this opponent’s main mode of attack involves luring its victims toward its main body to guarantee a strike. Sometimes it focused on a single Sinner, but there were also instances in which it targeted multiple of us at once. I also identified the blue fairy swaying from side to side, as though to seduce its victims. Though it may be difficult to engage this opponent while evading its numerous roots, because we are currently unaware of the magnitude of its main body, I believe that continued collection of intel through repeated encounters is necessary to prepare the appropriate countermeasures. Some losses are to be expected, however. Concluding the report. Thank you. → Seriously, Heathcliff! Why the hell would you walk out there AFTER we specifically told you not to? AGAIN? (Ishmael) → Haah, dammit… I don’t know. Something about how that happened was uncanny. It’s not like I wanted to walk there… (Heathcliff) → It appears that the fairy has the power to charm its victims. Perhaps it would be preferable that we focus our attacks on the fairy in our next encounter. (Faust)
I write to inform you that further intel has been gathered during our encounter with the entity around 0920 hours today. Dispatching the blue fairy seems to have been the key to drawing out its main body. Once the blue fairy was defeated, a part of its main body emerged from the ground, giving us a significant offensive advantage. Of course, I presume there is more to its subterranean body, but I concluded that what we have gathered so far is enough to give us an edge in this encounter. Considering the estimated losses we would suffer in the process, I don’t believe that there is any further intel that would outweigh the potential costs. Concluding the report. Thank you.
Mirror Dungeon Event
Mirror Dungeon Event
In the middle of a quiet and peaceful forest, a delicate tree branch is placed.
A small fairy with a green glow sits atop it.
Saying no words, the fairy waves at us, inviting us to come over and take a break.
It looked like it was smiling, and it might have been dancing.
Take a momentary break. Gain a Sinking E.G.O Gift depending on the result of the following choice
The fairy waves to bring us closer.
It seemed to be guiding us to a more comfortable place. Or maybe that was what we wanted to believe.
Our feet were hurting from the long journey.
What will you do?
Get closer. Win the battle to earn 2 Sinking E.G.O Gifts
The fairy's smile stretches into an eerie grin.
The strangeness didn't need to be pointed out for everyone to share the same sentiment.
Even though we knew we shouldn't trust things by the looks, we still fell for it.
We see the Faelantern within the containment unit.
A cyan-hued fairy flutters toward the wiry, ancient branches of the tree and softly lands on one of them.
The branch seating the fairy sways, as though to entice us to get closer to them...
Bright, countless yellow eyes glimmer from the shadows beneath its roots.
"What a beautiful specimen, this Faelantern. Have you finished your observations?"
"We've been learning a lot about the Abnormality recently."
"There's still a lot of unknowns, but still."
"Speaking of which, here's a pop quiz. What E.G.O Gift can you get from the Faelantern?"
Midwinter Nightmare Select the right answer to gain a Rupture E.G.O Gift
"Right on the money. You know your Faelantern."
"But that's not all. Recently, it's been giving out these things, too."
"Take this with you. I'm just glad to have run into a kindred soul."
You receive a bony twig. It seems to have come directly from the Faelantern itself.

E.G.O
The Lantern E.G.O is extracted from Faelantern. It is seen in Intervallo V: LCB Regular Check-up, where the LCE E.G.O is utilized by Marton.
Gregor and Sinclair's E.G.O were added to the Standard Fare during Season 1 and Season 2 respectively and are obtainable through the Dispenser.
Yi Sang's LCE E.G.O Identity was added as part of the LCB Regular Check-up Event during Season 5, available through Event Rewards. The Identity is obtainable through both the Dispenser and the Sinner's Target Extractions from Season 7 onward.
Both Faelantern and Meat Lantern share the name 'Lantern' for their E.G.O.
The E.G.O Gift 'Midwinter Nightmare' is a reference to Midsummer Night's Dream, a Shakespeare play about the adventure of four Athenians through a forest. More prominently, this story features the most famous depictions of Oberon and Titania who are the king and queen of fairies.
Notably, an Aberration of Fairy Festival named Titania is featured in Wonderlab.[1]
Prior to the the June 13th 2024 update, Faelantern's Classification Code was F-01-11-15, identical to Fairy-Long-Legs.
This was likely due to data for Faelantern being added alongside Fairy-Long-Legs, potentially suggesting it was originally planned to debut in the Mirror of Mirrors.
