Behavior

Attack Pattern

When the Fairy is active, Faelantern uses Snagged Lure as many times as the number of Charmed.pngCharmedCharmed.png Charmed
- All damage dealt to Fairy reduced to 0.
- Expires when Fairy dies.
Sinners every turn, until the Fairy is broken. For example, if there are 3 Charmed sinners, it will use:
- Snagged Lure, Snagged Lure, Snagged Lure

When the Body is not broken, it one of the following skill lists. It uses them in sequential order every time the Body emerges, and the Body only emerges for 1 turn before submerging again:
- Burrowing Roots, Burrowing Roots, Burrowing Roots, Expanding Roots, Expanding Roots
- Burrowing Roots, Burrowing Roots, Expanding Roots, Expanding Roots, Encroaching Stems

When the Body is broken, it uses the following skill set instead:
- Burrowing Roots, Burrowing Roots, Burrowing Roots, Expanding Roots, Uncovered Abyss


Parts

Faelantern is made up of two rather unique parts. The first is the Fairy, which starts off targetable and becomes untargetable when it is destroyed. It regenerates after 1 turn of being destroyed. Dealing damage to the Fairy does not deal damage to Faelantern.

The other part is the Body. The Body starts off untargetable, and becomes revealed once the Fairy lure is destroyed. It is targetable for one turn before it then submerges again, becoming untargetable once more as the Fairy regenerates. However if the Body is staggered, then it stays above ground for an additional turn.

Event

An Abnormality event occurs when the Fairy regenerates a second time.

Combat Event
The teal—colored fairy appeared again at the tip of the branch.

Attacking that fairy again will reveal its true form.

This isn’t your first time facing this entity. It won’t be as hard as the first time.

The Sinners seem to agree.

The fairy simply sat there in near complete stillness only interrupted by its intermittently vibrating wings. It was as though the fairy knew you were coming.

The fairy appeared to scream, but no sound came from its mouth.

Maybe it wasn’t screaming at all. Perhaps it was just the swaying of branches.

”The eyes are coming out…”

”Get outta there! Here we go again.”

Numerous eyes open one by one, gleaming from the shadows.

They oscillate as though they’ll jump out at us at any minute.

So… What now?

Of course, it wasn’t going to be that easy. Assuming that a bait would remain stationary is a complacent thought.

The fairy had also lightly flown up into the air and glared at the Sinner, who dared to attack it.

”G-get out of there! It’s starting to move again!”

[Sinner] tried to get away, but its main body had already tightened around the Sinner's legs.

This variant behaves identically to the standard variant fought in the Mirror Dungeon, with two key differences:
The Fairy does not have any Stagger Thresholds, and hence cannot be Staggered.
The number of targets inflicted with Charmed.pngCharmedCharmed.png Charmed
- All damage dealt to Fairy reduced to 0.
- Expires when Fairy dies.
scales with the Cycle Count.
