Behavior

Attack Pattern

Ebony Queen's Apple selects up to 4 attacks randomly from its card pool in much the same way that most human enemies do. The two exceptions to this are the skills Shared Pain and Vain Fruit. Vain Fruit is used every turn by the Fruit, except for when it is broken. Shared Pain is used every 5 turns by one of the arm available (chosen randomly) but only if none of the arms are broken (Staggering the right arm doesn't stop it). The arm using Shared Pain will always use at least one another attack at the same turn.

Each part non-broken and non-staggered will use at least 1 attack per turn.

If no part is broken, a random part (Roots: 20% chance; each Arm: 40% chance) will use a 4th attack.

If any part is broken or staggered, the remaining parts will use randomly 1 to 4 attacks, but the total amount of attack can't go over 4 (Meaning if one part is broken, you can have 2 to 4 attacks in total).

Each attack from an Arm has 20% chance to be Distrust and 80% chance to be Pale Stem.

Parts

The Fruit regenerates after it is broken for 1 turn. When it does break, all parts are inflicted with 2 Fragile Fragile
Take +(X*10)% damage this turn. (Max 100%), and the Fruit's weapon weaknesses become Fatal.

The Left Stem and Right Stem permanently break when they are broken. However, Ebony Queen's Apple will still try to use their skills if it draws them. This means that on a turn where it tries to use Distrust, and 3 copies of Pale Stem, and both of the Stems are broken, it will not use any attacks.

The Roots are breakable but not completely destroyable. When they are broken, they will still use attacks, but all weapon weaknesses become Fatal. They also have an AoE weight of 2.

Events

At the start of turn 3, the first abnormality event triggers. Winning the skill check removes the effect of the passive Entangling Roots for the rest of the battle. This happens even if Entangling Roots has already been deactivated by destroying the Roots.

Combat Event

The vines growing on the ground are a hassle.
Maybe there’ll be a chance to get rid of them?

A heart torn into thousands of pieces must be kept from all eyes, thus it burrowed into the ground and tangled itself.

Yet, someone has to pull up these thorny roots,
as there is no wound that can remain unearthed.

The Sinners gave each other looks.
Being coiled in piercing, sharp pain was something to avoid even in one’s dreams.

The dry earth must be upturned. Which Sinner was up to the task? Wrath Advantage: ≥ 4 No Advantage: ≥ 6 Check Passed [Sinner] walked with shaky steps. With bare hands, they dug up the roots. In their hands were the doubts of others. The Sinner realized… That while the injury may heal, distrust might take deep root in their heart. [Entangling Roots] expired. Check Failed [Sinner] could not uproot anything. It was no easy task, after all—entangled so tightly together, one couldn’t make heads or tails of it. Clutching itself, the durable web of fiber continued to expand, and the Sinners will continue to suffer. Nothing Happened.

After the Fruit has been broken once, and then the regenerated Fruit is brought down to 50% HP, the second abnormality event triggers. Winning the skill check Staggers all parts of Ebony Queen's Apple and breaks the Fruit.

Combat Event

The fruit was borne again.
Maybe this is a chance to destroy it once and for all?

The Sinners peered at its face.
They gazed upon the weathered memories within…

Down to the holes left by pests.

An apple does not culminate when it ripens to a glossy red.
When the apple browns, cracks, shrivels, and attracts lowly creatures…
That is when it has met its golden bliss.

The Sinners knew now was the time to bring the apple to the earth.

The apple is open for attack. Who was the Sinner to bring down the apple in its moment of bliss? Pride Advantage: ≥ 5 No Advantage: ≥ 7 Check Passed [Sinner] brought the apple to the ground. The fall left a dull thud. The fruit was emptied of its lifeblood long ago; only futility remained. This attack allowed the Sinners a brief moment of respite. The [Fruit] got broken! [Ebony Queen's Apple] got Staggered! Check Failed [Sinner] could not strike the apple. It must have been the Sinner’s wavering heart that caused them to falter. The mind is such a superficial thing. In any mind, you will find a sense of inferiority that likes to belittle the self. Nothing Happened.

Behavior

This version of Ebony Queen's Apple behaves identically to the base form, except for three differences. One is that it has 3 actions per turn instead of 4. A second is that it uses worse attacks, with more copies of Distrust and less of its other 3 attacks in its skill pool. The third is that it will never use the move Shared Pain.
