Sanity is a core part of the gameplay of Limbus Company. Sanity Points (SP) are represented as a number that can be seen right next to the unit's health bar. Sanity is determined through several interactions that occur in and out of combat, and has a valid range of [-45, 45].

Gameplay

The formula for calculating the chance of flipping Heads on Coins according to SP is as follows:
H=50+(SP)
Where H is the chance of flipping Heads (in %), and SP is the unit's Sanity Points (must be in the range of [45,45])
(For example: a unit with 27 SP would have a 50+(27)=77% chance to flip Heads, while a unit with -33 SP would have a 50+(-33)=17% chance to flip Heads.)

The most common way to increase SP is by winning Clashes or defeating enemies, and the most common ways to decrease SP is by using E.G.O, losing allies, and other status effects such as Sinking.pngSinkingSinking.png SinkingThe next Y time(s) the unit is hit, take X fixed SP damage. Reaching -30 SP or lower has a chance of causing "Low Morale" on units with Sanity, activating the Low Morale effects listed in their Panic Type. However, reaching -45 SP will cause the unit to "Panic", activating the Panic effects instead. (For Sinners, Panicking causes them to not act for that Turn.)
Please note that all Low Morale and Panic effects only activate on the earliest [Turn Start].

Corrosion

On [Turn Start], if a Sinner is at -45 SP and has an E.G.O with a Corrosion type Skill (essentially any non-personal E.G.O), they are forced into E.G.O Corrosion.pngE.G.O CorrosionE.G.O Corrosion.png E.G.O CorrosionWon't listen to orders and will only use Corrosion Skills, during which they will go out of control and use E.G.O Corrosion Skills indiscriminately.

  • Additionally, if a Sinner's SP reach -45 or lower, it will be fixed at -45 until the next [Turn Start], effectively forcing them to either Panic or Corrode. While enemy units do not have this restriction and can rise above -45 SP at any time.
  • While Sinners can reset their SP to 0 after a Turn of Panic/Corrosion by default, enemy units will remain stuck at -45 SP unless they have the "Panic Recovery" Passive or any other SP-resetting Passive.
