The room Heathcliff resides in is a reference to his upbringing, Wuthering Heights. It takes the form of a prison cell in order to reflect his feelings of being trapped in a place that was "never on [his] side", ridiculing and ruining him.
The sack behind him casts a shadow of a tombstone. This could represent how he saw himself as Catherine's murderer, wishing to kill off himself so she could be happy.
Of all of the base E.G.O art, Heathcliff is the only one who is physically interacting with the barbed wire, possibly representing his wish to free himself from his own guilt.
Upon reaching past Canto VI-34 for the first time, this quote changes to:
"I… have to meet Catherine. And everything that stands in my way will…".
- After finishing Canto VI, the quote changes to "Even if you are forgotten to the world… I'll get you back."
