Schadenfreude
Schadenfreude (O-05-76) is a HE-class Abnormality that was originally contained at L Corp. Headquarters. It originally appeared in Lobotomy Corporation and makes a reappearance in Leviathan Book 19.
Appearance
Schadenfreude is a grey metal box with a large keyhole in the center of its face. Nothing can be seen inside of the keyhole save for a greyscale human eye. Two lenses are attached to the front face of the strongbox, a red one on its bottom right, and a larger blue one at its top left.
The Abnormality usually remains in its boxed state while it is unobserved. When it feels a gaze upon it, a mass of muscle extends from the bottom of the box as it grows four mechanical insect-like legs. It is also able to extend a mechanical arm from both sides of the box, wielding a giant sawblade.
Story
During the events of Leviathan, Jumsoon, a Maestro of the Ring, distorted during his fight with Vergilius after he destabilized himself through increasing the refraction index of the Glass Window, believing strongly in the beauty of the dots and the similar endless possibilities of the Mirror Worlds. As their fight continued, Vergilius landed an attack that weaved through the many dots manifested by Jumsoon's Distorted form, and declared that he was able to defeat Jumsoon with but a single dot. This causes a contradiction in Jumsoon's already distorted view of the world, and his body becomes a vessel from which Schadenfreude emerges. The Abnormality and Vergilius continued the battle, during which Schadenfreude killed Nanseul despite Vergilius' attempts to save him. Vergilius soon thought of a way to successfully attack the Abnormality, and managed to slice through Schadenfreude's metal body. Schadenfreude reverted into its ovate form after being suppressed, and what was done with the Abnormality afterwards is left in ambiguity. However, due to the appearance of the LCA after these events, it's possible that the Abnormality was promptly recovered by them.

Trivia
- The term schadenfreude ('harm-joy') is a German word used to refer to the joy of witnessing/learning of the pain, misery, failures or humiliation of others.
- This may be tied to its gimmick in Lobotomy Corporation, where the Manager's gaze causes it to become aggressive and attack employees.
