Monkey Tree is a non-fightable Abnormality that can be encountered in Abnormality events in the Mirror Dungeon.

Appearance

Monkey Tree appears as a tree with purplish-black wood that's devoid of any leaves. It takes root in a cracked, dry landscape. Some of its roots resemble hands trying to climb out of the ground.

Trivia

• The Abnormality likely is in reference of Canto XIII of Dante's Inferno. In the Canto, Dante and Vergil travel through the second ring of the seventh circle of Hell, which houses the violent against the self. In it, people who died by suicide are transformed into dark, leafless trees, and are tormented by Harpies. Dante's first interaction with one of the damned involves the poet snapping a twig from one of the trees, causing the twig to bleed and the soul trapped in it to scream out in agony.
