Hurting Teddy Bear (T-04-16-02) is a TETH-class Abnormality encountered in Canto VII. It was previously contained in the L Corp. Branch in P Corp. that was built on top of La Manchaland and later overtaken by the amusement park.

It can be encountered in the Mirror Dungeon through Abnormality events, and battled as a potential boss. It is also fought on Station 1 of Line 5: Merry Go Round.

It is related to Happy Teddy Bear from Lobotomy Corporation, and is the source of the E.G.O Hex Nail.

Appearance

Hurting Teddy Bear is a large worn-out teddy bear, that has been impaled with nails. Its fur is faded and grey, and is coated with grime and bloodstains. The plush is missing its eyes, and its mouth has been sewn shut. Several other stitches can be seen all over the Abnormality's body. It has a round body, short legs, and big arms with sharp, black claws.

Nails have been lodged into the Abnormality in various places such as its arms, shoulders and the top of its head. The Abnormality appears to have a large hole cut out from the front of its body. A heart made of yarn can be seen inside the cavity, that has been skewered by nails in all directions.

I'm glad this one isn't so gross-looking~

But… uh, doesn't it look a bit… creepy instead?

A teddy bear's gotta look soft, plushy, and cutesy, am I right?

It's got burst seams everywhere, and… a buncha nails protruding in and out of it.

And it's got the gall to ask us for hugs… like, who'd wanna hug this thing?

There's more. Once we played along, it kept getting more aggressive…

Hm? Ohh, I've an idea! How about we just ignore it completely?

Let's not play its games and just press the offensive. Attack, attack, attack.

Y'know what I mean, right? That strat Dante sometimes suggests where we gotta attack 'em, throwin' caution to the wind, goin' down swinging.

I might be wrong, but… hey, it's kinda plausible, right?

Okay… so playing with it all together was not the solution either, huh…

It got rougher and rougher, until it suddenly hugged all of us! Like, like a huge bear hug!

And the nails inside its body started stabbing us in the process, and…

Ugh! Awful, awful stuff. Getting stabbed has got to be the worst sensation.

What now? We can't neglect it, we can't play with it, so…

Hm, maybe it's got something to do with the teddy bear's… mood?

You guys felt it too, right? It's like… y'know, that oddly sad feeling?

Every time we played with it, that 'feeling' seemed to diminish a little.

So here's what we gotta do. Don't play with it too much, but also don't completely neglect it.

Play with it just the right amount.

When it started runnin' at me all aggressive to hug me again, I thought it was gonna be my death # whatever today.

But… it wasn't.

It hugged me so tightly, but I felt so… comfy and warm.

It didn't hurt at all. Even its sharp nails turned cushy and sponge-like.

Maybe it was tryna repay us for playing with it? Anyways, after that, it just… sat there, not doing anything, like it was satisfied.

Like it was done with the playtime.

We killed it, since it's just an Abnormality that happened to be standing in our way, but…

I didn't like doing it.

… Besides, it was kinda cute, in hindsight.

A teddy bear suffers from having nails lodged into its body.

The bloodstains decorating it
are a telling sign of all the time it spent in pain.

The holes where its eyes should be are empty.
Nothing but dry red marks remain inside.

In spite of that, it stands with its arms wide,
endeavoring to fulfill its duty of giving hugs.

Once the plush had finished its copious exudation, only a dark cavity remained within. It is an empty void. E.G.O Gift Grimy Iron Stake obtained! Check Failed The nails plunged into its chest were buried deep. Nothing would budge even after several tugs and pulls. It’s all firmly lodged in the cotton base. The plush looks down at it as if nothing is happening. Perhaps it’s unable to feel pain. Cost 40 gained

Bandage its wounds. You applied bandages to the holes in its chest. Blood leaks and saturates them. The wound still seems sore. You gave it some extra dressing, making sure that it’ll last a good while. All Allies healed for 10 HP. Identities with Lust Sin Affinity Attack Skill heal 10 HP.

Embrace the Sinners. Win the battle to earn 2 Bleed E.G.O Gifts Hugging that teddy bear would be very difficult, given all those nails protruding from its body. Instead, I decide to hug the Sinners one by one to see how it reacts. Most Sinners push me away, taken aback from the sudden awkwardness… … but the teddy bear impatiently stomps its feet, apparently jealous. Perhaps what it wanted was affection, after all? E.G.O

The Hex Nail E.G.O is extracted from Hurting Teddy Bear.

Faust's E.G.O was added to Standard Fare during Season 1 and is obtainable through Extraction or the Dispenser. Sinclair and Rodion's E.G.O were added in the Season 5 Battle Pass and are obtainable through the Dispenser from Season 6 onward.

• Much like Happy Teddy Bear, Hurting Teddy Bear seems to have a penchant for giving deadly hugs to its victims.
• While Happy Teddy Bear was based on an abandoned toy, Hurting Teddy Bear appears to be based on an abused toy.
• The alphabet blocks in its Mirror Dungeon event and battle background spell out the word "T E D D Y".
