Centipede Apostle is a non-fightable Abnormality that can be encountered in Abnormality events in the Mirror of Mirrors.

Appearance

Centipede Apostle takes the form of a large, garbed centipede with an as-of-currently uncertain upper half, and what appears to be scribbled, bloody pages draped over its head. Other smaller yet sizable centipedes seem to writhe from out of the sleeves of its robe. The Abnormality dons a multitude of prayer books and booklets all over its body.

The centipede-like thing donned a rotten sheet of cloth.

The cloth reeks of rotting bodies, like it was used to dress a corpse.

There are strange booklets hanging all over its body.

Looking closely, those are prayer books.

What does it believe in, and what does it pray for?

Ask what it believes in.
When asked what it believes in, it droops its head down.

Just as I wondered if it was pointing at the ground, it then begins to tremble and shake its numerous legs.

"That... appears upset."

Suddenly, it kicked off the ground and rushed at me.

Faith simply works as a secure belief.

Questioning its substance... may not have been something we should have done.

It was focused on its prayers.

Doing your best to ignore the rotting stench, you manage to take a prayer book off its body.

It's so deeply immersed that it doesn't notice us approach it and take the booklet at all.

Perhaps its faith was too deep for prayer books to hold any meaning.

Whatever beliefs and doctrines it follows, they would already be firmly rooted in its mind and heart.

"Gieeegh?!"

Was our attempt noticed? As soon as the booklet was removed, an unpleasant noise bursts out.

We braced ourselves for possible attacks, but it didn't seem to care about us.

It scraped the ground with its mandible, writing something down.

...It seemed to be the content of the prayer book.

Nothing happened.
