I would like to explain why I deleted this piece of trivia:

"In Intervallo IV, Hong Lu mentions one of his aunts being fond of District 23's purple salt. This appears to be a reference to Baoyu's paternal aunt Jia Min, whose husband Lin Ruhai is a wealthy official in the Yangzhou salt commission."

This was shocking to me because Jia Min is the mother of Lin Daiyu, Baoyu's primary love interest and cousin in Dream of the Red Chamber. YouthOfPanda reverted it and said that "other pages have similar trivia points and it clarifies that its speculation," but I think this is very strong speculation compared to the other pages, since it involves a major character from the novel. I am willing to leave it as is, but I imagine it may be shocking to other people as well.

Hi! I'm sorry, can I ask for more elaboration on why this is shocking? Is the trivia point inaccurate in someway, confusingly worded, or is it a spoiler for the novel? Or are you concerned that the trivia section is calling attention to a book reference when that character hasn't yet been officially confirmed to have an in-game counterpart? The reason it was added was that I had two friends who have read the novel point out to me that Hong Lu's line was likely a reference to his aunt, so I thought it would be something interesting to add that it was most likely alluding to a specific character from Dream of the Red Chamber rather than being nonspecific.

Yes, I am concerned about it calling a reference to a major character who hasn't been introduced yet. It's shocking to me because my first impression is that it implies Project Moon is going to introduce cousin incest into the story. I understand it would be accurate to the novel, and I understand that there are a variety of different directions that the writers could take their story, but I want to make sure that you are aware of and okay with the implication. Don't worry about editing the wrong page, it happens! I understand why you might be worried about the game taking that direction, but so far there have been no references to Lin Daiyu's existence like there have been with his other family members, meaning there are multiple directions Project Moon could take such as having Lin Daiyu have an unnamed, separate mother character who is not Jia Min or by not including Lin Daiyu in Hong Lu's story at all. I believe that the book reference still holds up and doesn't inherently imply that Hong Lu will be in love with his cousin. YouthOfPanda (talk)
