Portrait of a Certain Day's fight is divided into two Phases depending on the HP of the Body Part.
When the Body Part is above 80% Max HP (1333 HP), it will always use the following Skills:
- Leave This Place, Leave This Place, Leave This Place, Don't Make That Face, Don't Make That Face, Don't Make That Face
When the Body is under 80% HP, an Event will trigger, and Portrait of a Certain Day will summon 5 Portraits. As long as none of the Portraits are identified as the Master's Portrait, Portrait of a Certain Day will use the following Skills:
- My Master, My Master, My Tragic Master, My Master, My Tragic Master, My Tragic Master
When one of the Portraits have been revealed to be the Master's Portrait through Clashing, it will use the following Skills until the Master's Portrait has been destroyed.
- My Master, My Master, My Master, My Tragic Master, My Tragic Master
Once the Master's Portrait have been destroyed, Portrait of a Certain Day will remove all other Portraits from the field at Turn End, and use the following Skills next Turn:
- Who Might You Be?, Who Might You Be?, Leave This Place, Leave This Place, Don't Make That Face, Don't Make That Face
If the Master's Portrait was not destroyed, and was instead removed by the Passive 'Throwing Out The Interloper', the bolded Skill from above will be replaced by 'Leave, Interloper'.
After this, it will use the following Skills:
- Who Might You Be?, Who Might You Be?, 'Interloper, Are You?', Leave This Place, Leave This Place, Don't Make That Face
- 'Leave, Interloper', Who Might You Be?, 'Interloper, Are You?', Leave This Place, Don't Make That Face, Don't Make That Face
Then resets its behavior to the summoning 5 Portraits again. This behavior continues until Portrait of a Certain Day is defeated.
On the first Turn it is summoned by Portrait of a Certain Day, the Portraits are untargetable. However, this effect is removed at the first Turn End.
Portraits can be "revealed" by Clashing with Portrait of a Certain Day's Skills. One of the 5 Portraits summoned is 'the Master's Portrait', which can be destroyed to debuff Portrait of a Certain Day.
All un-"revealed" Portraits and fake Portraits use the 'Master… ?' Evade Skill, and are impervious to damage, playing a laughing soundtrack when hit. Only the Master's Portrait, which uses the 'Master's Portrait' Guard Skill, can be damaged. In addition to this and taking notice of the shape and color of the Portait that triggers the 'Portrait Afterimage Sighting' Passive, the Master's Portrait also has a brighter aura than the fake Portraits.
An Abnormality event occurs on Turn End the Turn before Portrait of a Certain Day summons the Portraits.
'I am a butler of this manor.'
'Yet I do not recognize your faces.'
'I cannot help but be wary; perhaps you seek to mire this manor again in sorrow.'
'If you claim otherwise, then allow me to inquire. Which of these portraits is that of my master?'
