Wang Dawei is a member of the Wang Family and a candidate of the Family Hierarch Evaluations, having colluded with Shi Yihua to secure the Hierarch role. He is a minor antagonist in Canto VIII: The Surrendered Witnessing.
Appearance
Wang Dawei is a tall man with medium length, middle-parted brown hair beneath a short, black, hat. He wears a simply charcoal blue robe that reaches his ankles, buttoned over the right side of his chest. On his back, he carries a large hourglass shaped coffin, with two straps on its back allowing it to rest on his shoulders.
Personality
Wang Dawei is coolheaded, choosing to slowly plan out his actions rather than charge into a battle without consideration. He believes himself to be intelligent, and is quick to mend any potential disadvantage he happens to brings himself, such as when he quickly segued a failed attempt to steal Jia Qiu's coins to stealing Jia Baoyu's instead.
Story
Following the events of Intervallo V: Nocturnal Sweeping, Wang Dawei would, at some point, become acquainted with and revive Shi Yihua using newfound Wang Family Boluses.
During round one of the Family Hierarch Evaluation, Wang Dawei passed the first round by impressing the judges with his possible solution to immortality.
During the second round of the Family Hierarch Evaluation, he encountered Hong Lu and his entourage as they were meeting with Xue Baochai. Proclaiming his intention to swoop in and claim a success in the evaluation, he was allowed the chance to steal a portion of any one candidate's coins. While he initially spoke to steal Jia Qiu's coins, the host reminded him of the possible dangers of the target of the theft attacking him, to which he swiftly amended his target to be Hong Lu. Wang Dawei, having colluded with Shi Yihua for a new, unmarketed bolus made by the Wang Family, unleashed the revived Shi Family member from his coffin, acting as a surprise marketing reveal. Shi Yihua, failing to agree with his partner, chose to battle the Sinners out of personal spite and feelings of newfound power.
In the midst of the battle, stray pinions flew into and injured Wang Dawei. While his fate is unknown, Shi Yihua and Xue Baochai would continue battling until they were both eliminated, implying he was simply injured.
