I don't think the Superbiae logs are done by Faust-- she starts all her logs with "Recording the information gained from an encounter with the entity," isn't this flowery, and would probably be more likely to criticize the connecting of pride peccatula with the human invention of the wheel rather than write it herself. It feels very Yi Sang but he has a disconnected comment in the Superbiae? log so I don't know... Firestorm09890 (talk) 20:12, 12 January 2025 (UTC)

we've discussed this for a bit when the stage 2 log came out, since the first one absolutely feels like yi sang... it's mostly that there's no other log where the original writer comments the text- without it being in reply to another comment. namuwiki lists it as faust with comments from yi sang and ryoshu, though there's been a number of logs they've misattributed (the speech pattern being more obvious in the english text). now i wonder if this could be yi sang adding a comment on his own writing since it's almost formatted like poetry? similarly to the pigritiae one... --Sunshades (talk) 23:52, 12 January 2025 (UTC)

is it not possible for the superbiae logs to be written by ryoshu? i feel it can't be Faust for the reasons stated above - but i feel it also can't be Yi Sang because for one, he already wrote one peccatulum observation log and it'd be kind of silly for him to have two + to also respond to his own log, and secondly even if it is kind of poetic like yi sang's other logs he tends to speak in first person and relate his personal experiences to the encounters. It makes a lot more sense to me for it to be Ryoshu considering she responds to yi sang's comment & feels a lot more like something she'd write. Hi! The staff has discussed it before, but we went back to the topic after you brought this up... and ultimately we just don't think it's Ryoshu. Nothing about it particularly indicates that it's her, and more than that, the JP speaker we have on the team dictated that it is very clearly not her speech patterns in the Japanese TL of the log. Additionally, Ryoshu just doesn't have any association with Sin of Pride and would likely have more to say on the violence being brought up by the speaker than what is there. It's most likely just a weird and vague Project Moon moment, but we decided on Faust because it fits her way of speaking outside of the log introduction, it feels weird for Yi Sang to immediately reply to his own log, and Faust has some association with Pride and machinery/tinkering. It's totally true that the real speaker is unclear and that our choice of Faust isn't universally agreeable, but it's what feels right to the staff for the time being. Thank you for reaching out!
