Story
Canto VIII: The Surrendered Witnessing
Shi Huazhen participated in the Family Hierarch Evaluations. He succeeded in the first round, and was met in the second round. During the encounter, he met Hong Lu and his faction early on, aiming to eliminate them and steal their coins quickly. He become irate at Hong Lu's unexpected alliance with Wang Zhao, and even angrier when Hong Lu failed to remember his name, attempting to clue him in on it. After losing to the Sinners, Shi Huazhen would be eliminated from the second round, and Hong Lu would manage to remember his name.
Intervallo VI: Spring Cultivation
Shi Huazhen was among the parties present during the hearing of Jia Xichun, held by Jia Yuanchun, who aimed to topple and belittle the newfound Hierarch.
Amidst the training of the new Hierarch, Shi Huazhen was one of the opponents of the Hierarch's training, serving as her first midterm. Disturbed by the actions of the Shi family's punishment, Shi Huazhen worried over the family's standing with so many of its members temporarily detained, expecting them to be massacred whether they are guilty or not. After a short sparring match with Xichun, she convinces him of the dangers that Jia Yuanchun will bring to the family, casting them aside once she has sufficiently used them. Realizing that Xichun aims to create a compassionate Hongyuan, he is convinced to support her.
During the end-of-training meeting, Shi Huazhen voted against the vote of no confidence held, allying himself with Jia Xichun and making particular note that she remembered his name.
