Qingtao is a man with long brown hair, tied into a ponytail at the top of his head. He wears a plain gray changpao with wide sleeves, with matching dark pants and loafers.
Personality
Qingtao is a very deceptive man, purposefully being incredibly flattering towards the Sinners to build a false sense of comfort among them. Qingtao is a cowardly and weak person, running away at the first moment he fears revenge against his betrayal.
Story
Intervallo V: Nocturnal Sweeping
As the Family Hierarchy Examinations drew near, Shi Yihua began scheming to allow his family a greater standing among families, leading him to hiring several factions and people to assist him in securing a lead in the examinations. Whether Qingtao was already allied to Yihua prior to this or not is unclear.
Qingtao contacted Pilot as the LCCB team searched for a contact close to Hong Lu, pretending to have been a previous servant beneath the Sinner. He offered his assistance in leading the Sinners to the Nest.
Qingtao would convene with the Sinners at the entrance of District 8's Backstreets, accompanying Saude and Pilot before being passed to the Sinners as a guide. He led the group through dark alleyways as he continued to reassure the group they would reach a kezhan of his, where they can rest through the Night in the Backstreets. During the travelling, the group would be repeatedly attacked by strangers who had been tipped off or hired to attack Hong Lu by Shi Yihua. Despite these attacks, they reached Qingtao's kezhan, where the Sinners would rest as Qingtao sleeps in an external shed.
Following the attack of the Heishou Pack lead by Zilu, Shi Yihua reveals himself to the Sinners as their enemy - accompanied by Qingtao, much to the Sinners' expectations. As the Sinners come to the realization that they outnumber the trio of enemies, Qingtao became scared and fled from the scene.
Qingtao would not be seen alive after this point, having been decapitated by Jia Qiu. Qingtao's head is taken by his killers, alongside his master's decapitated head.
Canto VIII: The Surrendered Witnessing
Despite being decapitated, it is suggested that Qingtao and Shi Yihua may not be dead: since their brains were not destroyed, they may have been revived with Life Insurance. In fact, this would be the third time such a thing happened to Shi Yihua, according to Xue Baochai. Hong Lu asks Jia Qiu as such after the first round of the Family Hierarch war, but Jia Qiu does not answer his question.
