Pilgrimage of Compassion (Dungeon)
Pilgrimage of Compassion was the Story Dungeon of Episode Arknights - EX: Pilgrimage of Compassion, and the fifth Dungeon to be tied to an event.
As part of the limited time Arknights collaboration, it was only available to play between September 25th and October 23rd, 2025.
Overview
Pilgrimage of Compassion (titled Mayors's Fathoms inside the Dungeon) works like a one-Floor Mirror Dungeon, with five (5) nodes that alternate between Combat Encounters and Dungeon Events, a fixed sixth event node, and a final Boss node against Mayors, the Yearning Flotsam. Notably, there is no Shop node.
The Dungeon Events have a fixed position:
- "Iberians and the Ægirian" on the left above position;
- "The Glorious Past of Iberia" on the left bottom position;
- "A Story of Lighthouse Keepers and The Profound Silence" on the right above position;
- "Here, the Church of the Deep is giving out food made of Sea Terrors under the guise of relief to turn Iberians into Sea Terrors" in right middle position;
- "An Inquisitor Locked in a Fight Against Sea Terrors" in the right bottom position.
Enemies
Encounters in Pilgrimage of Compassion comprise of enemies encountered throughout the rest of the Episode. Specifically:
- Unfocused Encounters consist of Deep Sea Sliders and Shell Sea Runners
- Focused Encounters consist of Deep Sea Sliders, Shell Sea Runners, Nethersea Founders, Nethersea Spewers, and provide a Hand of the Saint
- Elite Focused Encounters consist of the same enemies but also feature Basin Sea Reapers
The final Node always consists of a battle with Mayors, the Yearning Flotsam.

Iberians and the Ægirian
There seems to be a commotion at the village square.
Villagers are surrounding someone with a clear intent to threaten.
"The evil sorcerer's gone, so why won't this calamity end? Explain!"
"Be honest! You just couldn't stand to watch Iberia thrive, could you?! If it weren't for that calamity, we would've…"
"L-look, please. I'm just here to… I'm just here to share some research notes—"
"What, how to fight those sea monsters? Oh, now you're looking to help us? Newsflash, it's too damn late! These scraps of paper won't do anything to help us."
The locals firmly believe that the calamity was brought here by Ægirs.
Turn away from the scene. No particular effect It has become a crime to exist as an Ægir. We're outsiders—it's not our place to step in when we don't know enough about what happened. But our hesitation was an answer in and of itself; the one-sided violence struck the Ægir. We ran in to help, but the Ægir's heart was already trampled and discarded. It's not something that can be picked back up like the scattered research notes on the ground. The lone Ægir's eyes gazed despondently at nothing until we eventually left. Nothing happened. |
We have to put a stop to this. Gain a Keywordless E.G.O Gift depending on the result of the following choice I can feel the mob turning toward us. "An evil sorcerer started the Profound Silence." "He pretended to work for us, but it turned out that he was driven by envy for Iberia's prosperity." "Don't try to stop us, outsiders." "They came from the sea, just like the sorcerer himself." As they were protesting, the hungry, harrowed look of villagers came into the Sinners' eyes. A villager, cradling an empty bundle of cloth. A child, holding a staff and a hat that was far too large for him. "… They've all lost a lot." "And that void in your heart blinds you." "It makes it unbearable to keep your emotions in check." This is how they deal with sorrow. There were no emotions or intent to be found in the great calamity that devoured Iberia whole. So they sharpen their sorrows into wayward wraths against those who came from the sea, just like the calamity itself. "Which means… someone needs to direct their anger against the rightful foes." <Irene?> "Step back, citizen." "Even if we were to determine that the Ægir has committed crimes, it falls under the Inquisition's jurisdiction to carry out the consequences." "If the Ægir is innocent… do understand that your actions cannot be permitted." It seemed that Irene managed to provoke some thought in the mob as they slowly walked away from the Ægir… Until they eventually scattered away. "Thank you." They might not, but there has to be someone who needs your help. Gloom & Envy Advantage check. Pass to gain a Keywordless E.G.O Gift. They might not, but there has to be someone who needs your help.
Who will speak?
"… Maybe so. Maybe it was just a matter of what they actually want." E.G.O Gift Sea Terror Notes obtained! "Maybe so." All Allies healed for 30 SP! You should probably return to Ægir. No particular effect "The situation back home—I mean, Ægir's not great, either." "We've been able to hold them back for now, but… We're almost at our limit." "If we and the land-dwellers can help each other, maybe… Well, that doesn't seem much like a possibility anymore." He looks down at his research notes with a look of despair. "Guess I'll try to find my way back to Ægir." "It's precarious, but… that place is still my home." The Ægir slowly stumbles away after picking up the research notes. Nothing happened. |
The Glorious Past of Iberia
We come across a cavern, full of sunken ship remnants and golden treasures that have washed up inside.
There are all kinds of unfamiliar sculptures and twinkling golden coins…
There's a whole pile of treasures here.
"Hey, the records here say that this used to be a ship that sailed all across Terra."
"It must be a ship built for conquest, built during the golden age of Iberia."
"Look, it says here that this is a golden chalice made in Sargon."
"Combine an armada of tall, proud sails, unparalleled technological innovation, and… a certain king's greed, and you get this."
"It's… the kind of glory we can barely hope to retrieve, now."
These items would be extremely valuable outside, but none of them seem very helpful for the situation at hand.
Should we continue to look, just in case?
That's enough looking around. Let's move on. No particular effect We've looked enough. Nothing happened. |
Keep looking. Gluttony & Gloom Advantage check. Pass to gain a Keywordless E.G.O Gift.
Who will step forth?
Sinner [Sinner] picked out a golden compass from inside a weathered bag. E.G.O Gift Goldforged Compass obtained! [Sinner] looked around for a while, but it was to no avail. Nothing happened. |
A Story of Lighthouse Keepers and The Profound Silence
Atop a steep, coastal cliff…
An old man is staring out to the far ocean, peering through the gale.
Approach. Gain a Keywordless E.G.O Gift depending on the result of the following choice We ask the old man what he's doing here, and he turns around with a good-natured laugh. "I was once a lighthouse keeper. I used to bring the Eye of Iberia's light to the dark sea." "So I'm looking out to the sea, watching the lighthouse beyond the cresting waves." I look to where the old man points, but I don't see any lighthouses there. Tell the old man to step away from the cliff; it's too dangerous. No particular effect "Ha ha ha…" "Don't you worry. The lighthouse was taller than even this very cliffside we're on." "This height is nothing to a keeper, friends." "Still… the day is getting late. I should be heading back soon." "I bid you safe journeys." As we were descending the cliffs after bidding the old man farewell in return, I heard the splash of waves coming from behind us. The old man was nowhere to be seen on the cliff. Nothing happened. Ask if the key belonged to the lighthouse. Sloth & Gloom Advantage check. Pass to gain a Keywordless E.G.O Gift.
"This is the last evidence in this world that light ever existed out there, at sea." E.G.O Gift Silver Key Bundle obtained! "This is the last evidence in this world that the light ever existed out there, at sea." Nothing happened. |
Leave. No particular effect We walked away, leaving the old man there. When I turned around, the old man was nowhere to be seen on the cliff. Nothing happened. |
Here, the Church of the Deep is giving out food made of Sea Terrors under the guise of relief to turn Iberians into Sea Terrors
There is a long line of people waiting outside a run-down building.
Inside, people in hoods are distributing something to the visitors.
"I thank the ocean's blessings."
"No, no. We only wish to help you sate your hunger, even a little. … Hm?"
"We haven't seen you around here. Clearly, you've traveled far to get here—welcome, welcome."
"Sorry, everyone—please understand, they're new here."
People in hoods dragged us inside.
"It's not much, but… this should hopefully be able to sate your hunger."
Dried fish, huh… Amiya and Irene called them "finbeasts".
Let the other people have it first. No particular effect There were people staring hungrily at our food, so we quietly handed it over. They began to shovel in the food, as though they've missed more than a few meals. Unless they slow down, they're going to make themselves sick… Without any reason to stay, we left the building. I felt a little prick on the back of my head, as though the hooded people were staring at us as we walked away, but… we managed to quicken our pace and disappear. Nothing happened. |
Slip them into our bags and pretend we ate them. Run a Gloom & Pride Advantage check to gain a Keywordless E.G.O Gift.
Who will step forth?
"We're so glad you enjoyed the food." E.G.O Gift Sea Terror Jerky obtained! "We're so glad you enjoyed the food." E.G.O Gift Sea Terror Jerky obtained! All Allies took 10 SP damage! |
An Inquisitor Locked in a Fight Against Sea Terrors
Through the ocean wind blowing between white buildings,
someone stands with a lamplight and looks around, the bloom illuminating the piles of sea monster corpses.
Given the clear similarities between his and Irene's outfit… he must be an Inquisitor, too.
"What are the civilians doing out here, on the front lines?"
An Inquisitor is leading our evacuation. Wrath & Gloom Advantage check. Pass to gain a Keywordless E.G.O Gift.
Who will step forth?
"Aha… the Inquisitor must've been leading you out of here." E.G.O Gift Brilliant Lamplight obtained! "I haven't seen her before." Nothing happened. |
We're here to help the Inquisitors. No particular effect "I appreciate the sentiment." "But the role of a civilian is to survive and contribute to Iberia's revival." "You needn't sacrifice yourselves on the front lines to hold the line against the very sea… for that is the Inquisitors' role. With that, the Inquisitor quickly saw us away from here. Nothing happened. |
The sixth node of the Dungeon is guaranteed to be the following event:
The last node before the boss battle against Distorted Mayors. Heals and revives allies.
At the center of what appears to be an ark symbolizing the City,
at the center of that brilliant, golden light… must be Mayors.
"Let's take a quick break here."
"Are you alright, Doctor?"
"I just need to take a… quick breather…"
"Fuhu… You should probably work on your cardio, or Miss Amiya might have to piggyback you around."
"Yeah, well… once we get back, I'll start working out like Kal'tsit suggested."
"Hmph. Executive Manager, if it ever comes to it, you may trust me with the piggybacking."
<I'm good.>
Perhaps being in close proximity to Mayors's vision of utopia and the center of the light did something…
Seaborns near us only gave us a passing glance without attacking us.
Something about the way they looked at us felt like… they were concerned about us—the Sinners couldn't help but look away with a funny feeling.
"I feel… sorrow, regret… Maybe these feelings are denials for all those times she spent agonizing over this."
"Can we really bring back Miss Mayors?"
<We'll help her return. That's what we're here to do, after all.>
<Alright, let's rest up for a bit before moving on.>
Take a moment to collect ourselves, then move on. After taking enough rest, we continue on toward the refracted light. Revive all dead Sinners and heal any surviving Sinners to max HP HP |
