"Ah, there…!"

I turn around to see someone precariously stumbling by the railings… before falling.

Falling… like a feather dropping from a height that is neither too high nor too low, like someone slowly sinking in water.

"WATCH THYSELF!!!"

One of the Sinners shouts vigorously to alert us to the danger.

We all sprinted toward the area where the person was falling, but it seemed that they were still falling by the time we got there, and we even had time to catch our breath.

Something about the ponderousness of their fall made me wonder if it would be as easy and light as grabbing a gently falling piece of paper to grab them.

"… Mass as a factor can hardly be ignored in this case. Despite the ponderous speed with which they fall, if we were to bring them to a sudden stop…"

"We'll get to watch every millisecond of their spine slowly turning to crumbles, and the subsequent, decidedly final agony, stretched to minutes."

"Eww…"

We still have some time before they hit the ground. We have to find something to break their fall…

Fine something to break their fall.

[Sinner] returned, carrying something in their hands.

It's a plush cusion.

"Let's try to make sure that the person falls on top of this thing, instead of trying to catch them ourselves…"

The other Sinners moved quickly, removing any dangerous objects from the area.

Finally, [Sinner] moved the cushion to just the right spot to break the civilian's fall.

… Eventually, the falling civilian gently hit the cushion. It sounded rather comfy.

[Sinner] returned, carrying something in their hand.

It's a plush cushion.

But…

"Oi, what's wrong with you? This thing's way too small!"

It's barely large enough to cover someone's torso.

"W-well, 'tis better than having naught to break their fall!"

Either way, there wasn't enough time for us to go out and look for an alternative. The Sinners decided to stand around in a circle to use their bodies to break their fall.

… Who, eventually, did.

The shock absorption was distributed amongst several bodies, and the tiny cushion at least managed to protect the person's back, but…

… once it was over, most of the Sinners were stumbling around with either broken arms or cracked spines.

"No need to go that far. Come on, fellas. Let me show you how it's done."

The Sinners made a small circle under the falling person, and successfully broke their fall.

"T-thank you so much…"

They thanked us, and handed us a small portion of what they were carrying.

… Very slowly. But the Sinners had grown used to it at this point, so we all waited patiently before seeing them off.

"Halt! This area is off-limits to outsiders!"

A man wearing a tall top hat, presumably an employee of T Corp., stops us.

"Only those contracted by T Corp., or those with special authorization slips, may pass through here."

Realizing that we were just standing there dumbfounded and unsure as to what we must do, he points to the side and continues.

"Hmm, looks like you do have the right to pass through here. Perhaps you've misplaced your pass."

"You can request for a reissuance there, off to the side. Go try your luck there."

"You can receive the pass permit here."

As instructed by the receptionist, [Sinner] filled out the pass issuance form without question.

"Please fill in the blanks here, and here as well."

[Sinner] carried out the task valiantly.

"And for your specific visitation purposes, the pass fee is listed right here."

"Uhh…"

[Sinner] look at us with consternation.

"Buuut, the Time Lottery winner this time around donated their winnings to pay for civilians' pass permits. What a generous soul, that one."

"Now, please wear this badge. Don't forget to return it once your task here is done."

We were able to obtain ourselves a pass without paying a single Ahn.

"One of them being the Yurodiviye—they've put out a manifesto or what have you, that they're thinking of stirring trouble here. Take them out, and we can hand you a badge without having to go through the process of getting a separate pass permit." "I mean, I was going to search your names in the system, which would have shown that you've all been warned; meaning, it was only a matter of time before I—hang on, were you all trying to save my time?"

"Well, I do appreciate the gesture, chaps. Let's not waste any more time and wrap this up."

Then, as if on cue, a shudder drops in front of the reception desk, and a siren begins to blare.

… It wasn't long before we were surrounded by T Corp. employees.

Yurodiviye

Yurodiviye
MD Yurodiviye.png

We turn into a corner and come across a rather crudely drawn poster.

Written on the poster is a brief introduction next to a small note with directions.

'Running low on time, but burning full of frustration? Then come join the Yurodiviye.

Are you content with letting the inequity walk all over you?

Or would you rather live for its destruction?

Desire it, desire it hard!

But…

… no one came to meet [Sinner].

That's when we sensed a group of scarved people approaching from behind us.

"I'm quite certain we asked any hopefuls to come alone… what are you lot, hounds of T Corp.?"

… Looks like a fight is inevitable.

Ignore the poster.
It does make one wonder: what could the Yurodiviye be recruiting for? But it seems to be a waste of time to follow this lead.

I look away from the poster and hurry myself alongside the Sinners.

A desperate voice echoes from afar.

"Join us. Let's tear down the inequities, together."

"We're saving time from their poor, miserable deaths. This is a holy deed."

Another voice speaks excitedly.

"Join us, mate. Become one of the phantom thieves. Know them blokes, right? The gentleman thieves, the thieves who serve justice… Hm, or are we more like muggers of justice?"

"I'm sorry; forget we ever had this conversation. It seems that our offer was made in haste, without a proper agreement made even amongst us."

"If you won't forget us… we may have to take your time."

They seem quite determined to leave us; they walk past us without hesitation.

"No, this is better. It is not yet the time for the secrecy of our existence to be revealed."
