Jamila (Hangul: 자밀라, ja-mil-la) is the leader of the LCA Udjat Vanguard Team 1. She is a supporting character in Canto IX: The Unsevering.
Appearance
Jamila is a sturdy woman with messy, dark brown, shoulder-length hair and brown skin. She has gold eyeliner and markings beneath her left eye reminiscent of the Eye of Ra. She wears the LCA Udjat Vanguard uniform consisting of black military armor over a black tunic and trousers, with gold accents present throughout the whole outfit. Her boots are black and lack laces.
She wields a black and gold khopesh, as well as a firearm mounted on her back.
Personality
Jamila is a professional presence, befitting her position in the LCA Udjat Vanguard. Despite this, she's not afraid to be blunt and honest, voicing her concerns with the formations of Operation Spider Pyre and showing a prideful streak.
Story
After the House of Spiders' raid on Limbus Company Headquarters concluded with them stealing the Golden Boughs, Limbus Company launched Operation Spider Pyre, a retaliation against the House of Spiders. Jamila was set to lead the LCA Udjat Vanguard Team 1, helping to remove obstacles encountered after the infiltration and act as a point of contact to Limbus HQ.
During the operation, the Udjat team entered the House of Spiders with Dante, Meursault, Outis, and Ryōshū using Limbus Company's Backdoor portal. They ended up in the Corridor of the Index, where Jamila and her team neutralized all of the Index Proselytes in the area. Ryōshū warned her about Rien's unpredictable method of killing before moving on to the Corridor of the Pinky with the other Sinners. Jamila then confronted Rien with the other Udjat, ordering that they throw everything they've got at him. However, the team's gear ended up malfunctioning, giving Rien the opportunity to swiftly wipe out the entire team. Before taking Jamila's life, Rien claimed to have no involvement with their weapon failures, which would eventually be revealed as Dias' doing at the end of the Canto.
